We are halfway there to get completed The Big Four Trainings which are part of the Erasmus + program „Open Door – nature for social inclusion”.
This time we have gathered together in sunny Spain, close to Mataró seacoast to spend 4 fruitful days, close to the nature to take part in the Adventure Therapy Training, which was organized by the Asociación Experientia: Terapia a través de la aventura, particularly by the Mathias – who is a coordinator of the project on the Spanish end, Natalia, who is a founder of Experientia, Dora – rock climber instructor, Cristian – kayak instructor and Santi – the masterchef.
From 2nd till 7th of April , partners from Poland, Romania,Spain &Czech Republic spent 4 intense days reconnecting to nature and oneself. To facilitate the process participants could experience the wildlife: sleeping in tents, daily gatherings around the fire, kayaking in the sea or climbing in the rocks.
On day one participants had a chance to ground themselves and got time to step into nature and to the process within themselves. Also, they were introduced to the slackline tools and how to use it with different groups. Later came the most exciting things. Participants have taken part in outdoor activities such as rock climbing and sea kayaking. Both of the activities were designed to show participants how to navigate in a window of tolerance and manage the risk: both real and perceived one.
As the training followed the experiential learning model – all of the activities were firstly lived and later on processed with the group and facilitators. Except for the hard work and very much deep group process that took place during these 4 days, participants have a chance to see the beautiful nature of Spain, have some time out of office and explore their profession from both participant perspective and a personal level.
Now, we see each other in Czech for Wilderness Therapy training. Within a time, everything makes a bigger picture. We are getting ready for the programmes implementations.
