Getting closer to nature: “A Journey of Growth and Connection”

By the end of October, the Imago Foundation had completed the stage of testing nature- based development programs for neurodivergent individuals – only the follow-up session remains, which will take place in November.

Our shared journey is slowly coming to an end. Soon, we will stand at a crossroads where each participant will choose their own path. Over the course of 10 sessions, 1 day trip and an intensive 5-day mountain camp, participants who began as complete strangers became a well-functioning, trusting, and supportive team — despite their differences. During five months of meetings, the participants first got to know and grew comfortable with one another — talking about their expectations, fears, and difficulties — and later, they got to know nature by developing bushcraft skills, learning how to start a campfire and build a shelter in the forest.

Subsequent sessions were devoted to body awareness and strengthening self- confidence. We practiced forest parkour, climbing, slacklining, and traditional archery. We descended on ropes from a high escarpment, paddled kayaks, and, in the end, together climbed the summit of the sacred Mount Sleza.
