Explore the Open Door Manual and Standards: Practical Resources for Inclusive Nature-Based Practice

We are pleased to announce the publication of the Open Door Manual and the Open Door Standards, developed as part of the Erasmus+ project “Open Door – Nature for Social Inclusion.”

These practical resources support youth workers, outdoor educators, therapists and other professionals in designing and facilitating inclusive nature-based programmes for people with disabilities.

Developed by partners from Poland, Romania, Spain and the Czech Republic, the publications are based on extensive testing and practical experience gained during the project. They provide guidance on planning Adventure Therapy and Wilderness Therapy programmes, adapting activities to participants’ individual needs, creating safe and supportive group environments, and ensuring high-quality outdoor practice.

The Manual and Standards are designed to help practitioners confidently use nature as a tool for personal growth, wellbeing and social inclusion.

We invite you to explore the publications and discover how outdoor experiences can become accessible, meaningful and empowering for everyone.
